In his Christmas homily, Father Tony talks about how we live in an age dominated by fear and anxiety. But we must hear the message from the angel Gabriel: “do not be afraid, for nothing is impossible for God.” The story of Christmas is one of God breaking into history with humility – as a little baby born into poverty – to save us, to dwell within our hearts, to be our Emmanuel, our “God with us”. But sometimes we fear God because He might ask us to do something we are not comfortable with. Other times we fear Him because we don’t feel worthy or that God could not love me. Just as Jesus broke into history, He also wants to break into your heart and let you know that you are loved – that is the message of Christmas! All you need to do is open your heart and receive His love.
