In many ways that we prepare for and participate in a dinner gathering without giving it much thought, we should be doing the same each week as we approach the gathering for the Eucharistic meal. We should be attempting to let our hunger increase, cleansing ourselves, not filling up on a bunch of “other stuff” crowding out room for the intended meal that we are truly hungering for, participating in the meal or bringing something to it, being a part of the conversation, lingering in the experience and savoring it…

We all have a deep and burning hunger for the Lord, the question is, what are we going to fill that hunger with? There is only one way to satisfy that hunger.
